Ms.
Gerald previously worked for over fourteen
years in the Miami Beach City Attorney's Office
as a legal secretary, preparing documents for
extensive litigation, legislation, labor issues,
and contracts, and helping to draft resolutions
for the monthly city commission agenda
Her volunteer background
includes extensive interaction with elected and
community officials while serving as the
president of LINC (Let's Incorporate Now
Coalition) for the past seven years,
facilitating the creation of five new
municipalities in Miami-Dade County. She also
was a charter member of the Palmetto Bay
Steering Committee (for municipal
incorporation), on which she served for seven
years as secretary.
She was an appointee to the Miami-Dade
Commission for Women and to the County's
Annexation and Incorporation Subcommittee. In
addition, she volunteers yearly at the Fairchild
Tropical Ramble, and enjoys time spent with her
two grandchildren who reside in Coconut Grove.
Both her adult daughters attended District 9
public schools-Coral Reef Elementary, Southwood
Middle School, and Miami Palmetto Senior High
School.

Riva
Steinman has been an active volunteer for the Dade
County Public school system for the past fourteen
years. She has held various PTA positions including
but not limited to a two year Presidency. She
currently is the past president of Howard Drive PTA
and sits on their EESAC committee. Additionally, she
served as an alternate on the ABC Boundary Committee.
Her
community service extends throughout the South Dade
community. She was a Girl Scout leader for seven
years, volunteered for both the Howard Palmetto Khoury
League and the South Dade YMCA. Additionally, she
has spent the past thirteen years serving on the
Baptist Hospital Gala committee for the Baptist
Hospital Foundation.
